Clay County commissioners approve five consent items including $1.25 million in invoices

The Clay County Commission approved a five-item consent agenda, including 235 invoices totaling $1,248,092.22, minutes from July 17–24 and several administrative items, in a 6-0 vote.

County Administrator explained the purpose of a consent agenda before the commission took action: "The consent agenda allows the commission to act upon items considered to be routine and approved in one motion." That motion was made by Commissioner Johnson and passed unanimously, 6-0.

The consent package included: minutes for the July 17–24 sessions; approval of 235 invoices for the period July 19–25 totaling $1,248,092.22; release of a letter of credit for Lisianna Point in the amount of $36,165.38; a countywide depository and banking services contract with Commerce Bank (item 2025232); and the redeployment of a member to the Mid-Continent Library Board Commission (item 2025217).

By approving the consent agenda in one motion, the commission handled these routine administrative matters collectively rather than individually. No public comment was taken on the consent items, and no commissioner requested removal of any item for separate consideration.
