Commissioners approve multiple fiber‑optic installations in county right‑of‑way

Grey Canyon Commissioners Court on July 29, 2025, authorized several underground fiber‑optic and conduit installations within county rights of way.
The court approved Apex Civil Solutions to install underground fiber optic cable, 35 pedestals and five vaults within the Pleasant Green Road right of way. Commissioners also approved three requests from Spectrum Gulf Coast LLC to place underground fiber at Massey Rock Road and Stanley Road (6,110 feet), Williams Road (2,057 feet), and Knox Lee Road (130 feet). The court approved Charter Spectrum's request to install 14,536 feet of underground conduit and 19 vaults along a series of rural roads, with the caveat that Barber's Road be removed from the county list because it is not a county road; the court directed the record be corrected.
Representatives for the companies attended and commissioners voted by voice to approve each request.
