Board adopts 2025-26 school district goals

The Salem School Board on July 29 voted 5-0 to adopt the Salem School District's draft goals for the 2025-26 school year. Administration staff said the draft consolidated input from board members and senior staff; two non-capital goals were noted as new additions.

Vice Chair Bernard Campbell observed that one new goal aligns with recently adopted parental-rights language from the legislature and said the goal likely satisfies statutory obligations. The board approved the goals and asked administrators to move forward with operational planning tied to the adopted goals, with follow-up reporting scheduled in future meetings.

The board also received a planning calendar from administration that maps topics and reporting back to the board through the fall and winter to support goal implementation and monitoring.
