A county staff member told commissioners that a System for Award Management (SAM) registration number the county had used in the past for a road‑department federal grant has expired.
The staff member said she received late notice of the expiration and that the SAM number had been created before the current commissioners took office; she said she would confer with the county’s Sasha to determine whether the county still needs the separate SAM registration or whether the work can be conducted under the county’s primary SAM registration.
The staff member recommended streamlining registrations so “the county everything should operate under the county's main number,” saying multiple side numbers were in circulation and that consolidation would be in the county’s best interest.
No formal motion or vote was recorded; staff said they would follow up with the county administrator and relevant departments to determine next steps.
