Board approves Lost Valley Ranch special use for guest-ranch expansion on 480 acres in southern county

The Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners approved by consent Resolution CC25‑205 (Case 24‑127376SU) on Aug. 5 to allow a special use to expand the Lost Valley Ranch guest‑ranch operations and associated ancillary uses on approximately 480 acres at 29555 Goose Creek Road, near Sedalia.

Clerk Lane Blomquist read the hearing consent item into the record; the staff listing identified Goose Creek Land Corporation as the owner/applicant and Alex Folkes as the case manager. The purpose listed in the staff notice was "a special use within the Agricultural-2 zone district to expand an existing guest ranch and associated ancillary uses." No members of the public removed the item from the consent agenda or spoke against it during the consent call.

Commissioner Kerr moved to approve the hearing consent item; Commissioner Zenzinger seconded. The motion carried by unanimous vote of the three commissioners.

Next steps for the case will follow normal county processing for special‑use approvals, including any conditions recorded in the staff packet and subsequent permit or compliance reviews required by county planning staff.
