PUEBLO, Colo. — The Pueblo County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 5 approved a lease agreement between Pueblo County and the Pueblo County Department of Human Services (DHS) to formalize rent and space-use terms for DHS offices.
Tammy Torres, director of the Department of Human Services, told the board the agreement covers three sites — 2631 East Fourth Street, 405 West Ninth Street and 320 West Tenth Street — and was created after a state health care policy financing audit identified the absence of an official rental agreement. “This is just a resolution in a contract to formalize the agreement that we have with the county for our the rental of our buildings,” Torres said.
Torres said the state (referencing OMB requirements) requested an official contract to document rental terms so the department can account for space costs in its funding. Commissioners described the item as housekeeping and approved the resolution; the motion passed on the record.
The resolution creates a formal vehicle for the county to charge DHS for space and fulfill state audit and funding documentation requirements. County staff will execute the contract and continue to manage rental and accounting arrangements between DHS and county administration.
