Council approves vacating portion of utility easement at La Scala property for pool construction

The Springdale City Council on Aug. 12 conducted a public hearing and adopted an ordinance vacating and abandoning a portion of a utility easement at property located at 8093 La Scala Avenue to permit construction of a swimming pool.
City Attorney Ernest confirmed the statutorily required public hearing notice had been published; the clerk reported no members of the public spoke during the hearing. The council moved to close the hearing and later voted to adopt the ordinance, which included an emergency clause.
The ordinance vacates the identified portion of the utility easement consistent with the diagrams attached to the ordinance. Council action authorizes the clerk to record the ordinance and provides that the easement abandonment is effective per the ordinance terms.
