The Albany School District Board discussed formation of a long-range facility advisory committee to guide facility planning and recommended the board appoint two members to participate.
Staff said they are seeking about 25 committee members, with a broadly representative mix of community members and staff. As of the meeting staff said they had 14 community members, with additional invitations pending. The board encouraged community representation and cross-polination with board members to ensure regular reporting.
The district suggested holding the committee on the first Tuesday of each month and anticipated meetings of two to two-and-a-half hours to accommodate detailed facility information, staff said. Board members agreed the committee would provide monthly board reports so the board is kept up to date and there is no need for a large reconciliation at the end of the committee's work.
Board members asked volunteers to consider serving on the committee and planned to select the board representatives at the next meeting.
