Board approves $41,073 tourism pickup; vehicle, wrap and trailer to support county events

The Keith County Board of Commissioners approved a tourism committee request to purchase a pickup truck for tourism work and event support.

Tourism coordinator Sean told the board he located a 2025 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss with 46 miles on it and said the total price is $41,073. He said tourism/visitor funds — not the county general fund — will pay the cost and that he planned to collect the title on Monday and arrange a wrap and a small trailer for events.

Sean said the county will buy a trailer (discussed sizes ranged from 3-by-5 to 5-by-8) and have both truck and trailer wrapped to match. He also said he will coordinate installation of a tunnel cover and confirmed he will provide title paperwork to county staff; the board asked where the vehicle would be parked at events and Sean said he had permission to park behind a local building for off-street parking.

Commissioner Wartman moved to approve the purchase; Commissioner Irvin seconded. Roll call recorded yes votes from the commissioners present and the motion passed.

The purchase was described as funded from the visitors/tourism budget; no county general-fund appropriation was recorded at the meeting.
