Zoning office to provide site plans to assessor, aims to improve valuation information after no-trespass opinion

Zoning staff reported that permit fees for July totaled $12,517 and listed the permit types issued: five primary permits, two accessory building permits, one agricultural building permit, one mobile home permit, two dirt permits, and one deck permit.

Cody, who represents the zoning office, told the board he met with assessor staff to develop procedures to provide more complete information to the assessor after a recent “no trespass” opinion complicated field inspections. Cody said he will begin sending site plans with monthly permit packets so the assessor can see building size and configuration (for example, two-story or basement), and staff will prepare a checklist for inspections so building inspectors can collect information the assessor needs.

Cody also said he had communicative interactions about addressing and permitting in town and had responded to an inquiry from a resident, Brandon Scott, by email; he described an effort to ensure consistent addressing decisions.

No formal action was taken; the briefing was informational and staff will implement the site-plan and checklist process to assist assessor valuation work.
