Public works warns of short detours for East Side Arterial roundabout work in August and September

City staff warned council that construction on the East Side Arterial will require temporary detours and closures this summer and early fall.

Keith (city staff) said crews will close routes for roundabout construction, with a closure planned for the weekend of Aug. 22 to install a roundabout at Ninth and Highway 126, followed by a longer 2–3 week closure later in September for additional work. The city will publish notices on its website, send weekly press releases and notify affected businesses, and staff will coordinate with industrial stakeholders to plan for heavy‑rig access during detours.
