Public commenter urges board to protect teachers' morale amid early-year changes

At the Aug. 7 committee meeting, community member Mister Osborne addressed the board during public comment and urged the board, administration and the teachers' federation to work constructively to "preserve that why of each teacher and school employee in our system."

Osborne said the start of the 2025-2026 year has brought changes that can erode educators' reasons for entering the profession, including a new evaluation system and block scheduling. "If we can do that, we can provide that solid foundation that helps employees persevere when times get tough," Osborne said.
