Mayor Hundley and Chief Selvig on Aug. 18 commended Addison police for their investigation involving the owner of Flavor Frenzy and urged anyone who believes they may be a victim to contact the department.
"This has been a very, difficult, sensitive case," Chief Selvig told the board. He said the department issued a press release the day before and has provided a phone number for people who may need social services or who believe they may be victims. "If anyone is maybe a victim of this horrific incident or if you have questions, so please reach out to the police department," Selvig said, and provided the department contact number: (630) 693‑7934.
Chief Selvig said the police department has worked to identify and help victims and that detectives "did a fantastic job, not wasting any time, investigating this case right away." He also said the department coordinated with social‑service partners (identified in the meeting as "Ned Fis") to provide support for victims and that the department will continue outreach via social media.
Mayor Hundley commended the chief and the command staff for a "prompt and thorough investigation involving the owner of Flavor Frenzy," and said the department's response exemplified a high standard of service. The board did not take any formal enforcement action or direct additional staff tasks during the meeting; the remarks were part of agenda item presentations and recognition.
