City of Joliet staff told the council at a pre-council meeting Aug. 18 that Phase A of the Advanced Traffic Management System is complete and includes 48 programmable street lights. The city manager said staff will seek a change order and final payment to H and H Electric Company for remaining work.
The city manager said the recommended change order, described in council memo 4-42-25, is $98,848.77; payment request number 3 and final is $332,591.08. The memos were presented as items on the city’s agenda for the council’s next meeting and no formal vote was taken at the pre-council session.
The memo indicates Phase A is complete and subsequent phases B, C and D remain. City staff presented the amounts as part of routine agenda review; the council did not debate the technical details or vote at the pre-council session. The city manager characterized the 48 street lights as part of the project scope and noted future phases will continue the broader system buildout.
The council will consider the change order and final payment at the upcoming regular meeting, when formal action can be taken.
