Commissioners approve minutes, consent agenda and adopt 2025 meeting schedule; committee assignments tabled

The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners approved the minutes of its Dec. 9 meeting as amended, passed the consent agenda, and adopted the 2025 board meeting calendar, which the board approved to meet generally on the third Monday of each month (with schedule adjustments when a meeting falls on a holiday).

The minutes amendment corrected a speaker’s listed location to Scarborough and was approved before the board accepted the minutes as amended. The consent agenda passed by voice vote. Commissioners then debated two proposed calendar variants (second Monday historically vs. proposed third Monday); the board voted to adopt the third-Monday schedule, with exceptions when a holiday requires moving the meeting day.

The board also moved to table committee and assignment decisions until next month to allow the chair time to consult with commissioners who were not yet available for assignment discussions.
