West Allis-West Milwaukee School Board elects new officers

Brendan Burns was elected president of the West Allis-West Milwaukee School Board at the board’s May 12 meeting in a voice vote of members.

The vote followed nominations and seconds for the officer slate and the board’s motions to close nominations. Burns, who was nominated and seconded by board colleagues, said, “I appreciate the support, and, thank you for electing me.” He added, “I hope to be diligent in my role as president and keep us moving forward as we continue our work.”

The board also elected Amy Diehl as vice president, Kristen Kaiser as treasurer and Jane Carr as clerk by voice votes. The meeting record shows nominations, seconds and voice approval for each office; no roll-call vote or opposing votes were recorded in the transcript.

Outgoing president Noah received public thanks from Burns and other members during the transition. Burns thanked Noah for “your years of service here as the board president,” and acknowledged the board’s appreciation.

The newly elected officers will assume their duties for the 2025–26 board year. The board moved next to scheduled presentations and committee business following the officer elections.
