The Missouri City Council unanimously approved a consent agenda on May 5 that included a cash-in-lieu payment for parkland dedication, a three-year citywide mowing contract, administrative scheduling changes and program and reimbursement authorizations.
The consent package matters because it authorizes contracts and financial actions that affect parks planning, maintenance services and small-business improvements without separate council votes on each item.
City Manager Angel Jones summarized the items. She said the city would accept $15,400 in cash in lieu of parkland dedication for Metaview Estates, an item approved earlier by both the Parks Board and the Planning and Zoning Commission. Jones said the council was being asked to authorize negotiation and execution of a three-year contract with SV Multi Services for citywide mowing services in an amount not to exceed approximately $600,000 per year and described the contract as structured to allow schedule adjustments for weather and seasonal needs. Jones also noted an item to cancel the July 7 council meeting as required by the city charter, the second and final reading to authorize city standards of care for youth programs, and a reimbursement authorization for Throne Barbershop for eligible patio-improvement expenses in the amount of $34,475.
Mayor Pro Tem Sonia Brown Marshall moved approval; Council member Emery seconded the motion. "Motion carries unanimously," the mayor declared after the roll call vote.
The actions are final authorizations under the consent agenda; no additional debate was recorded on these items during the meeting.
