The Public Works director told the Public Works and Utilities Committee on Aug. 18, 2025 that crews are “laying the last pieces of asphalt on Guadalupe,” and that the construction portion of the project should be “substantially complete sometime in September.”
The director said remaining traffic interruptions will be limited to short periods for striping and signage over the next couple of weeks. The landscaping portion — which the director characterized as “a big additional undertaking” — is being procured now, and the director said the matter will come to the governing body for authorization to use impact fees to fund that work.
The director also said the landscaping will include street trees and bushes and that those elements will be installed after the paving is finished. No vote or further committee action on the Guadalupe project was recorded in the meeting minutes provided.
