Council accepts utility easement from Curators of the University of Missouri for water line across university property

City staff asked the Rolla City Council to accept a utility easement from the Curators of the University of Missouri to allow RMU to install a water main across university property.
Staff reported the easement covers a new water main running west from Watson Drive on the north side of a residential complex near Watts Drive and Stonehenge. A staff member explained the easement will allow "RMU to install a water line across university property," and staff recommended accepting the easement.
A council member asked about the location and staff clarified the alignment as a main from Watson Drive going west on the north side of the residential complex. Following the presentation, a council member moved to accept the utility easement and the motion was seconded; the council approved the motion by voice vote.
The item was presented on the consent agenda and accepted; staff will record and file the easement according to standard practice.
