The Commissioners Court on July 15 approved two routine road and right-of-way items: renaming a former alignment of Cameron Road to Cameron Circle in Precinct 1 and authorizing the filing to abandon a section of right-of-way on West Pass in Precinct 3.
Anna Bolen of Travis County Transportation & Natural Resources told the court the Cameron Road name change follows a realignment project that smoothed a 45-degree turn; the older segment will be Cameron Circle to avoid confusion for addressing and emergency services. The court requested no objections were known and approved the name change.
On the West Pass request, staff said the parcel was dedicated by a plat in the 1940s but never built; the same lot owner on both sides requested abandonment so the land can be consolidated. Staff recommended abandonment and the court approved the request.
Ending: Both actions passed unanimously with no public objections recorded at the hearings.
