Commissioners authorize county administrator to sign plumbing contract pending prosecutor review

The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 5 authorized County Administrator Dylan Bentley to enter into a contract with Towing Associates to provide plumbing and gas services for the Lawrence County Building Department, pending review and approval by the county prosecutor.

Commissioners noted they had not yet received the finalized contract and asked staff to confirm the wording describing the scope of services — including whether the contract should reference “medical gas” rather than “air gas.” Bentley said the office had not yet received the contract and recommended giving the administrator authority to sign it so work would not be delayed if the document arrived midweek.

The motion to allow the administrator to sign the contract passed unanimously. Commissioners asked the administration and the prosecutor to verify that the contract language correctly describes the services and to forward the final agreement to the prosecutor for review before execution.
