The Greene County Board of Commissioners on July 31, 2025 awarded a bid for polymer flocculants to Polydyn Incorporated in the amount of $500,480. County staff said the chemical is used to dewater sludge at the Beaver Creek and Sugar Creek wastewater treatment plants.
Staff said the procurement followed advertising and bidding procedures and recommended awarding the contract to the lowest responsive bidder. Commissioners voted to award the contract as recommended; the award will allow plants to continue routine operations that require polymer flocculants for sludge dewatering.
The motion to award the bid was moved and seconded by commissioners and carried unanimously. County staff noted the purchase supports standard wastewater operations and did not indicate changes to plant operations beyond maintaining current chemical supplies.
