Planning commission recommends vacating 14.24-foot alley at 206 W. Walton

The Warrenton Planning and Zoning Commission on Aug. 7 recommended approval of Vacate 001, a request to vacate 14.24 feet of alley at 206 West Walton Street, and forwarded the recommendation to the Board of Aldermen for consideration at its Aug. 19 meeting.

Staff and the applicant told commissioners the alley portion has never been used for a public roadway and does not contain utilities. A commissioner asked for confirmation that the easement had not been used for utilities or roadway; the applicant and staff confirmed it was an old easement that was never used.

Commissioner Cullum moved to recommend approval of Vacate 001 as displayed and discussed; Commissioner Durbin seconded. The roll-call vote recorded six yes votes, zero no votes, three absences and one vacancy; the motion passed 6–0. The staff report and the published notice in the Warren County Record were made part of the record.

Ending: The commission noted the recommendation will be presented to the Board of Aldermen on Aug. 19 and closed the item.
