Old Winchester Bridge rehab readvertised after no bids; county will proceed by force account for labor

The Greene County Board of Commissioners on July 3 authorized re-advertising a materials-only bid for the Old Winchester Bridge rehabilitation after the county received no bids in the initial solicitation.

County staff said vendors reported insufficient time to prepare bids and that many were busy, so the county will re-advertise and allow more time for submissions. The staff presentation explained the county intends to proceed by force account for the labor portion of the work while contracting out materials by bid.

The board approved a motion to re-advertise the bid; commissioners recorded "Aye" votes and no further conditions were recorded in the meeting minutes.

County staff did not provide a revised advertising timeline at the meeting; staff said they would give vendors more time when they reissue the solicitation.
