Commission awards $329,810 contract for community center food‑service equipment

The City Commission authorized the mayor to enter into a contract with Merchandise Equipment and Supply Inc. to provide and install the food‑service equipment package for the community center project in an amount not to exceed $329,810, which includes a 10 percent contingency. City staff and the community center architect developed detailed specifications and drawings, published a competitive request for proposals in July and received six proposals. Staff and the architect reviewed all proposals and recommended Merchandise Equipment and Supply as the lowest qualified bidder. The contract will be funded from the Parks and Recreation Capital Fund. The commission approved the contract by voice vote with no additional questions recorded.
