Lockport approves 10-year renewal of IDNR commuter-lot lease at train station

The Lockport City Council voted to approve renewal of IDNR lease agreement 5057 to continue the commuter parking arrangement at the city's train-station lot for the next 10 years.

Ben, a staff member, said the measure was a renewal of "the IDNR lease agreement 5057" and described it as "basically the commuter lot, for the next 10 years." He told council members the city had been waiting for a partial and PIN clarification with the DNR and that the clarification had been received and corrected in the meeting packet.

A motion to approve was made and seconded; council members recorded their votes and the motion passed. Council members asked no substantive questions beyond confirming that the clarifications were in the packet.

The resolution formalizes the city's continued partnership with Metro and DNR to allow people to park at the train-station lot under the existing lease terms. The council did not attach additional conditions at the meeting.
