Edward Prince appointed to Oldsmar Veterans Advisory Board

The Oldsmar City Council appointed Edward Prince as a regular member of the Veterans Advisory Board on Aug. 5; the council confirmed the appointment by voice vote.
Edward Prince introduced himself at the meeting and said he has lived in Oldsmar for about a year and a half and that he served 14 years in the U.S. Army. "I served in Afghanistan and Bosnia," Prince said, adding he was medically retired in 2012 and recently joined the VFW chapter in Oldsmar.
City staff told the council that Prince met eligibility criteria as a veteran and a resident; if appointed his three-year term will expire on March 1, 2028. The council moved and seconded the appointment and voted in favor.
Council members thanked Prince for his service and for submitting a detailed application. The council encouraged him to engage with the VFW and other veteran-support efforts in the community.
