Board awards Carmel Middle School softball skills facility bid to low bidder Bosco Construction ($530,000)

The Carmel Unified School District board voted to award the construction contract for the Carmel Middle School softball skills facility to Bosco Construction Services after a public bid opening. District operations staff said seven contractors attended a walk‑through and five bids were submitted; Bosco submitted the lowest bid at $530,000.

Chief Operations Officer Dan Paul told the board the project schedule anticipates completion before the start of the softball season. Board members asked about bid vetting; staff explained contractors must meet public‑works bidding requirements and that state public contract code generally requires acceptance of the lowest responsible bid for public projects.

A motion to award the contract to Bosco Construction Services passed on a roll‑call vote with all members voting yes.
