The Village of Riverwoods Board of Trustees approved an ordinance updating the water-fee schedule and the rate charged for police extra-duty services.
Finance Director Vasquez told the board the water rate ordinance implements a 5% increase to $10.37 per 1,000 gallons and raises the monthly minimum charge from $10 to $20. “As a follow-up to our discussion on water rates at the Committee of the Whole meeting earlier in the month… I have had the village attorney update the water rates by 5%,” Director Vasquez said.
The board also approved an update to the police extra-duty fee schedule to $107 per hour; the chief explained the rate covers officer pay and associated costs when residents or organizations hire officers through the village. The ordinance was adopted by roll-call vote; board members recorded aye votes and the mayor declared the motion passed (ordinance 25-08, second reading and approval recorded in the meeting minutes).
Trustees asked staff to correct a typographical error in the draft ordinance (a misspelling of “police services”) before final publication. The board directed staff to include the ordinance update in the village fee schedule and to continue providing information at upcoming finance workshops as staff prepares the 2026 budget.
No additional public comment on the ordinance was recorded during the meeting.
