Board authorizes superintendent and CFO to sign federal child nutrition claims; motion approved 8-0

The Newington Board of Education voted Sept. 10 to designate the superintendent as the authorized signer for the district’s ED099 agreement for federal child nutrition programs and to authorize a second signer in the superintendent’s absence.

The motion — recorded in the meeting packet — authorized Dr. Maureen Brummett, superintendent of schools, to sign the ED099 agreement and claims for reimbursement; the board designated the district chief financial officer, Lynn Beauvoir (listed in the motion as the second designee), to sign in the superintendent’s absence or incapacity. The authorization is an annual administrative requirement that ensures the district can participate in federal child nutrition programs and file reimbursement claims.

During the roll call the board recorded unanimous support; the meeting minutes state the motion passed 8–0. The signed ED099 form will be retained in district records.
