The Lawrence Licensing Board approved licenses for Diego’s Little Car Sale & Repair, Inc., at 20 Embarkment Street, allowing dealer and associated repair activities under the categories discussed with board staff.
Applicant Diego de Leon said this is his first business of this kind at the location; board members and enforcement liaisons emphasized requirements for keeping vehicles on the private lot (not on public streets), maintaining a clean site, ensuring vehicles are registered and insured, and obtaining the appropriate environmental permits for on-site repairs and waste oil handling.
Lieutenant Olivieri asked the owner to avoid leaving unregistered or uninsured vehicles on public streets; Lieutenant Frias asked that repair activity follow required permits for waste oil and acetylene. The applicant confirmed he had liability insurance on file. Commissioner Laird moved approval, a second was recorded, and the board voted to approve the licenses with the stated expectations and conditions.
Board staff said unresolved items include routine inspections and confirmation of permits; the license was granted subject to those standard regulatory requirements.
