The Wasco County Board of Commissioners made multiple personnel and intergovernmental decisions Aug. 20: the board approved Order 25-053 appointing Jamie Kerr as the county’s representative to the 4 Rivers Early Learning Hub; appointed Noah Estes as a city representative to the Mid Columbia Economic Development District board of directors; and approved a routine intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Mid Columbia Economic Development District (MCEDD) to provide staffing for the county economic-development commission.
Commissioner discussion introduced Jamie Kerr as a candidate with local youth‑program experience: she previously ran an after‑school program and currently oversees a 21st Century after‑school program in the North Wasco School District. Commissioners commended her qualifications and asked that Kerr provide periodic updates to the board on hub activities. The motion to appoint Kerr passed unanimously.
Commissioners also approved the appointment of Noah Estes, described in the record as a member of the Mosier City Council with U.S. Forest Service experience, to represent Wasco County cities on the MCEDD board. The motion passed unanimously.
Tyler (county staff) presented the Mid Columbia Economic Development District IGA, which continues the prior year’s staffing arrangement and funding for the county’s Economic Development Commission; staff said terms are unchanged from the prior year and MCEDD drafted the agreement. The board voted to approve the IGA by motion and unanimous vote.
