Torrington Inland Wetlands Commission grants 5-year extension for Housing Authority wetlands permit

At the Sept. 9 meeting, the City of Torrington Inland Wetlands Commission voted to grant a five-year extension of a previously approved wetlands permit (WC200805) for the Torrington Housing Authority at Quarry Terrace and Tucker Drive. The motion to grant the extension passed by voice vote without public hearing.

Staff described this as an administrative action: the extension is statutorily allowed and does not require the two-meeting public hearing process used for new or significantly revised permits. Commissioners moved, seconded and voted in favor of the extension; no speaker opposed in the meeting record.

The extension preserves the existing permit's conditions and allows the Housing Authority to remain under the previously approved wetlands authorization for the statutory five-year period. Staff included the extension motion in the minutes and closed the item without further, substantive debate.
