The Maryville Town Council approved Ordinance 25-17 on second reading Tuesday, revising fees and charges for the Parks and Recreation Department.
Councilors said the ordinance represents the final iteration after prior discussion and adjustments at committee and chair-level review. The change was presented as an update to the town code chapter that governs department fees and charges.
After a motion and second, the council took a roll-call vote. Clerk Treasurer Eric January recorded votes in favor by Vice President Neal, Councilwoman Haines Edwards, Councilwoman Chandler Felton, Councilman Pettit, Councilwoman Hardaway and President Bello. The measure passed 6-0.
Council discussion at the meeting was brief; speakers noted the item had been reviewed in committee and with department chairs before second reading. No amendments were offered at the meeting.
The ordinance amends Chapter 13.5 of the Maryville Municipal Code to establish and adjust Parks and Recreation fees; the council and department staff said the changes reflect items in the town’s five-year master plan and are intended to align prices with program and facility usage.
Staff and council members did not provide a line-by-line fee schedule at the public meeting. The ordinance will be filed with the town records and the updated fee schedule published on the town website.
