Fairview council amends municipal code to remove specific date/time language; ordinance adopted

At its Aug. 20 meeting the Fairview City Council held a public hearing and approved Ordinance 6-20-25, which amends Fairview Municipal Code chapter 13.05.0.1 (f1 and f2) to remove specific day/time language.

Staff said there were no substantive updates since the prior presentation. The hearing opened with an invitation for public testimony; no members of the public addressed the change, and the hearing was closed. A councilor moved to adopt Ordinance 6-20-25; another councilor seconded the motion. The council then voted in favor and the ordinance passed.

Councilors who spoke said the change would reduce operational bottlenecks for staff and decrease overtime caused by rigid date/time requirements; staff confirmed the amendment follows the nonemergency ordinance adoption process for the code change.

The ordinance was adopted on first and second readings during the Aug. 20 session; staff will update the municipal code accordingly and proceed with any required notifications.
