Central services staff said Sept. 5 the county may begin processing microfilm for Whiteside County on an occasional basis to help that county when it cannot find local processing services.
Tracy, a central services staff member, told the IT and Central Services meeting the arrangement would not be large scale — likely one or two rolls every month or every other month — and that the county will charge Whiteside County for the work. "We may be starting to process their film for them. It's not going to be a whole lot, maybe 1 or 2 rolls every other month, once a month or every other month," she said. "I'll charge them their wages as well."
A board member asked whether staff had the time; Tracy said it "won't take much time" of county staff and that charges would include wages. The committee did not vote on a formal contract during the meeting; Tracy framed the proposal as a staff arrangement to bill Whiteside County for occasional processing.
Why it matters: the service would provide a stopgap for a neighboring county with limited local processing options and generate reimbursements for central services. No contract number, start date or formal agreement terms were presented in the meeting.
Next steps: staff said they would proceed on a limited basis and bill Whiteside County; the committee did not record a formal authorization or vote on a contract in the minutes provided.
