Norfolk County approves seasonal resignations, school appointments and payroll warrants

Norfolk County commissioners on Aug. 27 accepted notices of resignation for seasonal golf associates and approved personnel actions at the Norfolk County Agricultural High School, along with routine payroll and expense warrants.

The personnel actions affect staffing at county recreation facilities and the county agricultural high school and include both separations and new hires.

The commission accepted resignations for Lauren Chin, Maya Donovan and Finn Kelly from seasonal golf associate positions with effective dates listed in the meeting packet. Commissioners approved a step correction for Jessica Tibble as a 183-day instructor effective Aug. 25, 2025; the appointment of Janice Lavoie as vocational assistant principal effective Aug. 28, 2025; and the appointment of Lisa Christofulli as a 183-day instructor effective Aug. 28, 2025. The commission also approved a motion to grant credible service credit to an individual named in the meeting packet; staff said the supporting letter and details were in the packet and that the change affects vacation accrual calculations.

The meeting also recognized staff milestones for employees with 10 years of service, listing names provided in the meeting: Dawn Karen, Kara Coogan, Nicole Forsyth, Chris Goldsmith, Peter Kane, Benjamin Pulido, Mark Rubitt and Michael Ryan. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved multiple payroll warrants and an expense warrant; totals read into the record included payroll sums of $128,469.07; $309,149.85; $164,893.82; $156,782.93; and $251,141.23 and a county expense warrant sum of $664,478.55 as presented in the packet.

Ending: Personnel actions and payroll/expense warrants were approved by voice vote, and staff will implement the appointments and payroll as recorded in the meeting packet.
