County grants one‑year extensions to three proposed solar projects

Livingston County commissioners approved one‑year extension requests for three separate proposed solar projects during the Aug. 14 meeting. The items were presented together by the Agriculture & Zoning Committee. Staff and applicants told the board that none of the three projects had begun building or obtained building permits; interconnection agreements, equipment delays and federal issues were cited as reasons for the extensions.

Votes recorded in the meeting minutes: the Oxeye Solar extension (Case SU‑10‑22) passed with a roll call reported as 14 ayes, 3 nays and 1 absent; the Old 66 Solar extension (Case SU‑7‑22) passed with 15 ayes, 2 nays and 1 absent. The record for the Republic/AC Power extension (Case SU‑4‑24) shows approval on the floor by the board during the same agenda sequence.

Planning staff said delays stemmed from interconnection agreement timing and equipment availability; staff also confirmed the projects had not yet pulled building permits. The board did not add conditions beyond those already in the applicants' draft findings and returned the items to administrative processing.
