Proactive stop in 800 block of South Fifth leads to drug, trespass and tampering charges

Around 11 a.m. on the twenty-sixth, MVPD officers made a proactive contact in the 800 block of South Fifth and observed drug paraphernalia, the department said.
The contact is significant because officers reported discovering paraphernalia and what they described as a meth pipe; the subject was subsequently booked on multiple charges.
Audio included in the department's monthly summary captures on-scene interaction in which officers asked a subject to put suspected contraband in their hand and later requested the meth pipe. The department's narration states the person "was booked for trespassing, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with evidence."
The report did not identify the arrested person or list testing results for the seized material. The department did not describe whether CDOT or other agencies had jurisdiction over any recovered millings or paraphernalia mentioned in on-scene audio.
