The Wyoming City Board of Education's facilities core team reported preparations to relocate Hilltop students to Friendship United Methodist Church while the team finalizes site readiness.
At a June 17 core team meeting, staff focused on moving educational equipment, technology setup, safety preparations and testing before the fall start. "July will be a big month for us as we start to move all of our educational equipment into church, make sure all of our technology, safety, planning is is set up," a facilities team member said.
The board referenced work done earlier by the district's citizens advisory committee (CAC) on alternative sites; the facilities team said it was using that checklist as a checkpoint while preparing the church. Staff raised storage as a significant concern and said they are testing equipment and storage plans. Heather, who spoke during the committee report, said district staff toured other buildings and documented features they liked and did not like to inform planning.
A facilities core team meeting was scheduled in the meeting transcript as "general 9 9" for final preparations; staff emphasized the next weeks would involve moving, testing and finalizing safety protocols before the school year.
