Committee accepts Bureau of Justice Assistance reimbursement for ballistic vest purchases

The Criminal Justice, Public Safety, and Emergency Services Committee on July 21 approved a budget amendment to accept reimbursement from the U.S. Bureau of Justice Assistance through the Bulletproof Vest Partnership program for ballistic vest purchases.

Sheriff Sean said the department replaced 29 ballistic vests and that the Bureau of Justice Assistance provides a reimbursement payment for those purchases. He said the department would use the money to help cover costs for the department's personal protective vests.
