Anderson campus construction moves forward; district sites earn PBIS honors

The board received facilities and recognition updates that included progress on the PACE construction project at Anderson and statewide PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) recognitions for several schools.

A business department representative told trustees PACE construction at Anderson is progressing "very smoothly" and is scheduled to finish toward October. The temporary building is already in place next to the current wellness center; staff said a new playground will be installed and PACE will move operations from the front to the back of campus after construction is complete.

Superintendent Castro also highlighted district PBIS awards. She said Twain achieved platinum recognition from the state, the highest level, while Mitchell, Roosevelt, Anderson and Green received gold recognition. Adams, Smith and Rogers received silver. "So very proud of all of our schools," Castro said.

Staff also noted a temporary relocation of PACE during construction and staff changes in accounting; two new accounting staff were introduced. No formal board action on construction contracts or change orders was recorded in the transcript.
