Bel Air schedules Sept. 15 hearing on short-term rental ordinance that would limit use to nonresidential districts

The Bel Air Board of Town Commissioners announced Sept. 2 that it will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Town Hall on an ordinance that would add a use category and performance standards for short-term rentals and revise definitions of short-term rental and accessory dwelling unit.
Town staff and commissioners said the legislation currently before the board would make short-term rentals possible only in nonresidential districts; the board did not take a vote on the ordinance at the Sept. 2 meeting and the item remains scheduled for the Sept. 15 meeting.
No public testimony was taken on the ordinance at the Sept. 2 meeting; commissioners invited interested residents to the Sept. 15 public hearing for additional discussion and public comment.
