The Board of Supervisors agreed to hold action on a farm lease tied to land near the county jail until staff can obtain an updated survey and an FSA (Farm Service Agency) evaluation.
Why it matters: County staff said the parcel’s legal description and tillable acreage were uncertain under the existing survey, and the county needs a clarified boundary before offering the land for rent.
County staff said Tony had coordinated a proposed new survey to verify the western boundary and to set an additional pin so the acreage could be amended from a larger preliminary boundary back to about 11 acres of the original homestead parcel. Tony told the board the surveyor expected to be on-site later in the week to set the pin and that staff would follow up with Jim and record the updated survey when available.
Ending: The board took no lease action and will revisit the matter after the new survey and FSA review are completed.
