Lewis County sets Sept. 16 hearing on 2025 third budget amendment; revenue up $6.68 million

Lewis County commissioners approved a notice on Sept. 2 setting a public hearing for the county's third 2025 budget amendment. The hearing will be held Sept. 16; written comments will be accepted through 10 a.m. on Sept. 15 by mail or email, the county said.
Becky Butler read the notice, which said the amendment affects all funds and lists a revenue increase of $6,678,076 and an expenditure increase of $10,154,745, producing a change in estimated ending fund balance of $3,476,669. The notice also said the general fund portion of the amounts includes an expenditure increase of $101,842. The county will note any additional funding notifications received between the notice and the hearing during the Sept. 16 hearing.
The notice lists the mailing address for written comments as 351 Northwest North Street, Chehalis, Washington 9532 and an email address bocc@lewiscountywah.gov with the subject line "public comment budget amendment." Commissioners approved publishing the notice and set the hearing on a 3-0 vote.
