Board committee recommends allowing personal days in hourly increments for staff

Presenter Mr. Russ said hourly personal days allow staff to attend short midday events such as student celebrations without requiring a half‑day absence and would make coverage easier to arrange when staff give advance notice. He said administration supports the change to keep staff in front of students longer and to increase flexibility.
Board member Mr. McKenna moved to recommend approval to the full board; Ms. Lopez seconded. The committee voiced its support and the motion was forwarded to the full board for final approval. The committee did not take a binding vote to adopt policy language at this meeting; the item was moved forward to the full board for action.
