Jefferson County commissioners on Jan. 6 approved a contract extension with EagleView for aerial imagery and mapping services, at an annual cost of $42,643.80. Staff said the county has used EagleView for the past six years and that the new contract reduces resolution from legacy 9‑inch rural imagery to 6‑inch imagery (an improvement in ground sampling distance) without raising the county’s annual cost.
Presenters said the agreement is a seven‑year contract with annual renewals and that county staff negotiated ownership and indemnity provisions. The county will split the annual cost with a partner (staff said the cost is split in half). A commissioner asked whether there are renewal options; staff said the contract includes annual renewal for up to seven years.
A motion to approve the EagleView contract for $42,643.80 annually passed on a roll call. County staff and the county attorney said the contract follows forms other counties are using and that the county will own/access image products per the negotiated terms.
— Ending: Staff plans the spring flight and to implement imagery into county GIS for mapping and assessing work.
