Jefferson County commissioners on Jan. 6 approved several Road & Bridge items: authorization to apply to the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LTAC) for the High Sea Road project (estimated total cost $2.2 million) with a county match commitment of $161,480 if funded; acceptance of the county’s annual road and street financial report for FY2024; and acceptance of newly constructed roads in Teton Heights subdivisions Divisions 2 and 4.
A county road official requested quick authorization to file the LTAC project identification packet; staff said LTAC requires assurance that the county could supply a 7% match. The board passed Jefferson County Resolution 2025‑6 authorizing submittal and committing the matching funds if the grant is awarded; the motion and second carried on roll call. Staff emphasized that authorizing the application does not constitute an immediate expenditure of funds — only a commitment to provide the match if the grant is awarded.
Road & Bridge staff also presented the annual road and street financial report showing roughly $11,000,986 in project receipts for the year and an ending balance of approximately $1.8 million due to a state overpayment in the highway distribution account; the board approved the report and signed the document. Finally, county staff attested that engineering, compaction, testing and paving met county standards on Teton Heights Divisions 2 and 4; the board voted to accept the roads for record and signature.
— Ending: Road & Bridge will submit the LTAC application, process match funding if the award is made, and continue scheduled projects funded by the identified balances.
