Board approves personnel actions and school improvement plans

The Harlem Consolidated School District Board of Education on Aug. 18 approved a personnel agenda that included 38 employments, 45 transfers, 21 resignations and two leaves of absence, and separately approved school improvement plans for the district’s schools as presented at the education committee meeting.
Why it matters: personnel changes reflect the operational staffing of the district for the 2025‑26 school year; school improvement plans set building‑level goals and alignment with district priorities.
Details: Superintendent Tara Yarborough and human resources staff presented the personnel addendum and noted the totals; the board approved the personnel agenda by roll call. Doctor Schiller (presenting on school improvement plans) asked the board to approve the plans for Parker Center, McChesney Elementary, Maple Elementary, Marquette Elementary, Olson Park Elementary, Raulston Elementary, Rockette Elementary, Windsor Elementary and Harlem High School; the board approved those plans by roll call.
Next steps: HR will continue onboarding new hires and processing leaves; principals will implement the approved school improvement plans and return to the education committee or board with progress updates as scheduled.
