Council receives introduction to amend Fund 266 rules to allow grants to separate taxing districts

Janelle Fairman, director of economic development, introduced an amendment to the city's ordinance governing Fund 266 (capital projects) to permit granting money from Fund 266 to separate taxing districts. Fairman said Fund 266 was established earlier in 2025 and a portion is allocated to the Redevelopment Department (department 018); the requested ordinance change would allow the redevelopment department to grant monies from Fund 266 into the Redevelopment Commission's capital fund (Fund 244) as originally intended.
